Guided tours can be booked for up to 25 people and cost £75 per tour (venue admission may also apply; weekend and out-of-hour tours are £95). Tours include:
Southampton Walking Tours
- Old Southampton Tour- An introduction to the amazing history of Southampton’s Old Town, including visits to some of the hidden vaults beneath the town!
- The Southampton Blitz– Southampton was heavily bombed during the Second World War. This walking tour descends into a number of the public air-raid shelters and explores the experiences of those who lived through some of the darkest days of Southampton’s history.
- 1338 French Raid- In October 1338 Southampton was raided by French, Genoese and Sicilian attackers, causing huge desolation to the town. This tour explores the story of the raid and the magnificent defences that were constructed as a result.
- Stuart Southampton– Walk in the path of the passengers of the Mayflower, discover stories of plague and civil war and visit some of the town’s incredible hidden vaults!
- In the Footsteps of the Friars– Did you know that Southampton had its own medieval water system that was in use for hundreds of years! This special walk plots a course from the bottom of the Old Town up to where the water system began. Beware- you may get muddy!
- Spooky & Scary Southampton– Venture into Hamtun Town… if you dare! Explore the hidden histories of Southampton by venturing into vaults and scale the town’s ancient walls while discovering tales of war, plague, villainy and ghosts!
- Mysteries of Southampton Castle– In this tour you’ll explore the town castle and discover tales of treachery, murder and mystery! The tour includes access to the incredible Castle Vault!
- Swashbuckling Southampton– Set sail for the fair town of Southampton and join a special tour of the Old Town with a focus on stories of buccaneers, explorers and smugglers! Visit some of the hidden vaults on your voyage.
- French Raids, Fires and Friars- This tour takes in the south and east quarters of the Old Town. You will discover fantastic stories of terrifying piratical raids, devastating fires and the friars who called the area home in the Middle Ages.
- Titanic Walking Tour- Step back to the Southampton of 1912 by walking the sites and places of the Titanic story, including South Western House and Canute Chambers, and discover the stories of the men and women who lived here.
Tudor House & Garden
- Tudor House & Garden– Discover the secrets and stories of this incredible house. This tour includes access to the attic and cellars, areas of the house that are normally not open to members of the public.
- Haunted Tudor House?– Tudor House is believed by some to be one of the most haunted buildings in Hampshire. Join us for this new tour of spooky goings on in the house. This tour includes access to the attics and the cellars of this 800 year-old house.

- Southampton’s Titanic Story exhibition tour – Develop a greater understanding of the tragedy of the RMS Titanic and its affect on Southampton in this expert-led tour of our permanent Titanic exhibition. The tour is designed to complement the collections on display.
- Southampton Gateway to the World – Gain an in-depth perspective into Southampton’s history. Find out about the pirate emperor who turned Britain into his own Empire in Roman times and why a witch was brought to St Mary’s Stadium in the 2000s.
